Zebruh Cake!!!

i just want to say…. I…LOVE…ZEBRAS.,, they are my absolute favorite animal! they’re just so awesome with the coolio stripes and crap XD the cake is kinda dense, but it has like a subtle kind of sweetness (well at least i think it does) and a mild chocolate touch to it.

what you need

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 c. milk (whole, 2% or 1%)
  • 1 c. veggie oil
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 c. flour
  • 2 tsps baking powder
  • 1/4 tsps salt
  • 3 tbs cocoa powder (the double dutch dark cocoa gives it more of a black while the regular cocoa gives a brownish color…. either one works… all i had was the regular kind)

Heat your oven to 350… and then grease a 9″ circular pan. you could make zebra cupcakes…. its just more time consuming to fill the indiviual cupcakes. if youre going to make cupcakes, then toss in the cupcake liners into your cupcake pans.

beat your sugar and eggs until its light and fluffy. and then add in your oil, milk and vanilla until smooth. Sift in your flour, salt and baking powder. dont forget to scrape down the sides of the bowl!

pour half your batter into another bowl, and sift your cocoa powder into one of your bowls, and mix it in thoroughly. now you should have a vanilla batter and a chocolate batter.

onward to making the zebra stripes! take 2-3 tbs of your batter, doesnt matter which one, and dribble it into the center of your pan (that is…if your using the 9″ one. if youre making cupcakes, then use 1 tbs ish.) and then take your batter, same amount, and drizzle that into the center of the batter in your pan. and then switch batters and repeat. youre basically making a target XD repeat until your batter is gone. if youre making cupcakes, then fill each one 3/4 of the way, and if you have any left overs, then you can make a cake in another pan.

chuck your cake into the oven for 35-38 minutes. and for cupcakes, 25-28 min, until a toothpick comes out clean. let it cool, and then frost it if you want, or you can just leave it plain and enjoy the pretty rings šŸ˜€ and tada when you cut into it, you have lovely lovely zebra stripes šŸ˜€
