GUMMY BEARRRSSS

seriously….who has not had some kind of gummy candy as a child? i mean theyre like……the definition of childhood…..or at least it was the definition of mine ._.

i remember asking my mom to get me and my siblings as many gummy bears as we could whenever we went to some place that sold them in bulk like Henry’s or someplace like that….god those were the good old days….. now… i just get them whenever i have ridiculous sugar cravings….or for sneaky munchies during classes…. yum XD

this recipe that i have is so freaking versatile its like omg XD you can change out the flavors so easily. you can make a freaking adult version by substituting the water for vodka. you can change the freaking shape and size of it just like that. you can even make it freaking vegan by using agar-agar instead of gelatine and then use fruit juice….. oh…em…gee….these are like the definition of versatile. if you looked it up in the freaking dictionary in my head, there is a picture of gummy bears in the making. gawd…..

 what you need:

(not so vegan)

  • 1 small box of flavored Jello (any flavor you freaking want…. i told you its versatile)
  • 7 envelopes of gelatine
  • 1/2 c. water (or vodka if you so please it….just dont be tempted to give any to the kids)

(very-so-vegan)

  • 1 tsp agar agar powder
  • 1/2 c. juice

no matter vegan or nonvegan, stick everything in a sauce pan and mix until it looks like a strange alien version of dough dough…..weird…… then stick it over low heat until its a molten liquid mess and isnt lumpy…BUT DO NOT BOIL IT…this would turn it into a hard candy…and i dont think you want that now do you?….stir constantly yes, so then it doesnt turn into a burned molten liquid mess… pour into your oiled candy molds (or silicone ice molds….those work well too) and then stick them in the freezer for 10 minutes, or fridge for 20 minutes depending on how long you want to wait. once theyre set, then pop them out of the molds and then pop them in your mouth…chew and swallow. chew and swallow… OMG DOES ANYONE REMEMBER THAT ONE BOOK FROM LIKE AGGGES AGO ABOUT THE CITY CALLED CHEW AND SWALLOW :OOO ITS LIKE THAT ONE MOVIE CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS… :O  i miss my childhood T~T.

side note: i like to take a rectangular container, fill it with cornstarch, pack it down, draw in a shape and then pour in my molten candy mix… this gets awesome and unique molds than can be easy changed.
